NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE POOL

National Hockey League Pool
CURRENT SEASON SEASON RECORDS ALL TIME STATS TROPHY ROOM

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the National Hockey League Pool. We use CBS Fantasy Sports to run our hockey pool online with full access 24/7 to your team roster, league standings, stats and game results. During the season there will be regular updates on overall standings, stats and game results posted to our website. The sports pool format is Head-to-Head and runs for 20 weeks for our regular season followed by 3 weeks of playoff rounds to determine our champion

DRAFT

The pool will start with a draft of National Hockey League players, date and time will be set usually 1 week before the start of the National Hockey League season. The draft will go for 15 rounds, each team will draft 15 players to fill there roster

Each team must draft the following positional players to fill there roster, this is the minimum requirements:

You will have the opportunity to fill 5 backup positions during the draft, there are no restrictions on what positions you can have in reserve. This would give a potential total of 15 roster positions on your team.

FREE AGENTS

Throughout the season you may want to improve your roster by adding available free agents and releasing players that are not performing up to your expectations. There is no limit to the amount of Add/Drops you make. You can submit a free agent request at any time

WAIVERS

In order to provide an equal opportunity for all owners to add players that are new to the free agent pool, a Waivers process is used. Owners' requests to add players on waivers are not executed immediately, but are put in a pending status for at least 24 hours. This allows multiple teams to request the same players. The team that will receive that player will be based on the Waiver Rank order

WAIVER RANK

During the waiver process, pending transactions are processed in Waiver Rank order. The team with a waiver rank of 1, considered the highest, will get its first requested player. Teams will be arranged in waiver rank according to the standings. The team who is last place in the standings will be ranked number one for waivers while the first-place team will be ranked last for waivers. Once the highest ranked team for waivers chooses a player, they drop down to the bottom of the waiver list in order for the second person to choose a player. This process will be repeated until all transactions have occurred for that day. Once the day’s transactions have been completed the waiver order will be reset once again to the current league standings. If a team's highest pending transaction becomes invalid because another team received the requested player, the transaction gets deleted and the team's next transaction, if one exists, becomes that team's highest

HOW TO WIN

In the Head-to-Head match up, the team with the most cumulative fantasy points will be awarded a win. A win is worth 2 points in the season standings. If the two teams are tied at the end of the week then each team will be awarded 1 point. Final regular season standings will be determined by: Win/Tie Points, then by Total Fantasy Points

PLAYOFFS

The final regular season standings will be broken down into Tiers based on the number of teams we have in the league. You will play against the other teams in the Tier you ended up in. The winner of the Tier will receive a cash prize. Most teams who end up in Tier #1 will receive cash prizes depending on how they finish. So no matter how bad you do during the regular season there is always a chance to redeem yourself in the playoffs

Please note: we do not have ties in playoff games. If there is a tie the team who was ranked higher in the regular season standings will be granted the win.
